Air-O-Fan Products Corp.

Building the ultimate spraying machines.

Image Description
In 1945, Gilroy, California, saw the birth of Air-O-Fan sprayers, designed for orchard growers in the Santa Clara Valley. Before Air-O-Fan’s innovative “Air-Blast” sprayer, growers relied on labor-intensive high-pressure spray guns, requiring a tractor driver and two others to spray rows from a platform. The first Air-O-Fan sprayer, equipped with a 30-inch steel centrifugal fan powered by a Ford flathead V8 engine and a 500-gallon steel tank, allowed a single operator to spray from the tractor seat. This reduced spraying time significantly and improved efficiency by using air to deliver chemical droplets through tree canopies, far surpassing handgun methods. In 1987, Air-O-Fan saw the opportunity to relocate to a larger factory in Dinuba, California, to better serve growers in the Central San Joaquin Valley (SJV). By establishing its manufacturing facility in Dinuba, California—a hub in the heart of the state's agricultural powerhouse, Air-O-Fan has positioned itself to provide unparalleled support to SJV growers. The local production of sprayers means shorter supply chains, enabling faster delivery of equipment, replacement parts, and custom modifications tailored to the unique needs of California's diverse orchards and vineyards, such as adapting to specific crop varieties like almonds, grapes, or citrus that thrive in the region's Mediterranean climate. Moreover, as a family-operated business deeply rooted in California's farming community since 1945, Air-O-Fan offers direct, hands-on support through its dealer networks and on-site services, including rapid troubleshooting, maintenance, and training sessions that address real-time challenges like pest management or water efficiency regulations specific to the state. This localized approach not only fosters stronger relationships with growers but also allows the company to quickly incorporate feedback into product innovations, ensuring that our air-blast, engine, PTO-driven, and herbicide sprayers evolve to meet evolving environmental standards and labor-saving demands in California's competitive ag sector. That being said, we have taken our craftsmanship, work ethic, knowledge and know-how to the international export market.
